Frequently Asked Questions

What are Chiropractors?
Chiropractors are neuro (nerve) musculo (muscles & soft tissues) skeletal (bones & joints) specialists.

What conditions do you commonly see?
Common neuro-musculo-skeletal injuries such as neck & low back pain, but many other complaints such as:

• Leg & arm pain

• Arthritis

• Nerve pain & sciatica

• Postural problems & repetitive strain injuries

• Sports injuries, rehabilitation & performance

• Industrial injuries, rehabilitation & advice

Chiropractic adjustments to the spine & extremities have such an influence on the Nervous System that the results can be far reaching, with patients noticing improvements in conditions such as:

• Asthma & lung conditions

• Sinusitis

• Headaches & Migraines

• Dizziness, vertigo & balance disorders

• Colic & Digestive problems

• Menstrual problems

• Immune system dysfunction

• General well being

What is Reflexology?
Reflex points which relate to all parts of the body can be found in the feet. These points respond to pressure & stimulate the body’s own natural healing process. The body starts progressively clearing blockages, re-establishing energy flow & balancing itself, resulting in better health.

What is Cupping therapy?
Cupping therapy - uses glass cups to create localized pressure by a vacuum. The vacuum inside the cups causes the blood to form in the area and help the healing in that area. The suction from the cups can penetrate deep into your tissues causing the tissues to release harmful toxins. It helps activate the lymphatic system, promote blood circulation & is good for deep tissue repair.

What is Gua Sha?
Gua Sha – is an East Asian medicine technique used to remove blood stagnation that blocks the surface tissues impeding organ and immune function. It uses an instrument which is drawn across the skin where there is an injury or imbalance, producing a distinctive reddening of the skin, known as “Sha”. This reddening is a good response and brings an immediate and lasting benefit of reducing inflammation, coldness, tightness, and pain from the superficial and deeper layers of the body. The reddening of the skin is simply the heat and toxins coming to the surface.

What techniques do you use?
Diversified - a specific manual adjustment by hand to the spine & extremities to restore normal joint movement & neurological function & to decrease pain.

Activator Adjusting Instrument - is a handheld spring-loaded device that delivers a consistent, low-amplitude (low-force), high-speed movement making adjustments comfortable & effective. It is also usefp to adjust the peripheral joints (jaw, elbows, wrists, knees and feet).

Drop Piece technique - utilises the mechanics of a specifically designed chiropractic table, that when positioned, allows the practitioner to deliver a very specific, low impact force, with minimal resistance from the postural muscles of the body.

Cold Laser Therapy

Electrophysical Therapy - Ultrasound & Interferential machines

Soft tissue & neuromuscular release techniques

Sinus & lymphatic drainage

Cranial techniques
– Internal & External adjustments to the skull.

Foot Levelers custom-made orthotics

Research has shown that common musculoskeletal conditions (eg low back pain) have a very high correlation with foot problems. In these cases, the feet don't usually cause pain, but structurally, functionally & neurologically they contribute to major problems throughout the rest of the body.

We assess for these problems using some specific testing methods, including the use of the Associate Platinum foot scanner. Once we have the results of these tests & scans, we can determine the need for foot correction. If necessary, this is done by building your very own, custom-made pair of Foot Levelers, which are designed to correct the structural, mechanical & neurological dysfunction that are contributing to problems elsewhere.

Foot Levelers have been around for over 60 years, and have helped millions of people worldwide discover a greater level of health & wellbeing. Since we started using Foot Levelers we have had some amazing respts.

Sound therapy programs - can be effective treatment for those with:

• Hearing loss
• Sound sensitivity
• Learning difficpties
• Dizziness, Meniere’s Disease
• Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
• Chronic fatigue, insomnia, stress and anxiety
• Memory and concentration
